It must be mine. It was just over there.
The last one, waiting for me to love and care.
I’ll pull it home and prop it by the fire.
I’ll hang shiny ornaments with green hooked wire.
Vintage, with rustic sparkly blown glass, all glittery new.
Retro lights glow pine needles: red, yellow, green and blue.
Golden star to adorn the top.
Silver tinsel twinkles and pops.
Colourful presents to tape and tag,
To lay under the trunk in a red velvet bag.
Imagine what nature can give with a little attention and nurture.
I’ll plant a seed next spring to thank the past with a hopeful future.
